My sister wanted to go to this tea party on a bus in Atlanta, GA so I had to come up with a tea party outfit to fit the theme. When she first told me about a tea party on a bus, I thought she was joking. But then she sent me the links and I was in awe.
Not only was it a literal tea party on a bus, I loved that everything was PINK, which is my all time favorite color. After seeing how others online made the experience look cool, I was excited to go.
Here’s one reel I saw on Instagram about it.
But there was one problem… I didn’t know what in the heck to where! Knowing I’ve never went to a formal tea party, I was scanning through my closet for something that spoke “formal” without looking “church vibes”. And after coming up short and not having the extra funds and time to buy something, I had to improvise.
And here is how everything came together.

Getting Ready for the Tea Party
After seeing how others were dressed for this tea experience, it made me think about church, first lady vibes. Which is cool. Or more so like Bridgerton. Yes, Bridgerton is the one that matches it perfectly.
The key things everyone wears are lace gloves, stockings, fascinator hats, cocktail dress, bright colors, high heels, and pearls.
Though there is no dress code to attend this event, everyone seems to take the opportunity to get into the theme and dress up. And even though I knew I didn’t have all the things, I wanted to add some to my outfit.
Tea Party Outfit Inspiration, My Outfit
My outfit inspiration came from researching more about tea parties. I knew that if I had at least one cocktail dress in my closet, that would be enough to set the tone.
A cocktail dress is a semi-formal dress that comes right above or at the knee, which is way shorter than a long formal gown. So I knew that my white and black dress was perfect for this occasion.
And since it was a bit chilly outside, I added a button up black sweater to this outfit. But I only buttoned up the third button because I wanted to show the mesh top of my dress, but also close it up just a bit.
Then, I wanted to add the stocking look to my outfit but I only had black fishnets. So I put those on to give my outfit a different, edgy look, along with the combat-like high heel boots. And just for the finishing touch, I added the very chunky, layered pearl necklace.
Overall, this was an interesting look, but I liked it. Was it tea themed? Sure! Just done my way.
One thing I may regret is my hair. Yes, it looked good, but I think a ponytail would have been better. Still cute tho!

Tea Around Town Atlanta Experience
My experience was good! I loved how everything was pink with flowers all around inside the bus. Mostly everyone on the bus was dressed up in their tea party attire.
The 3 teas I experienced were mint, clove, and apple. The food items varied from sweet, savory, and scones. The sweets were my favorite, which were this chocolate creme puff, strawberry cheesecake bite, and lemon meringue bite.
The savory options were chicken salad sandwich, egg sandwich, cucumber sandwich, roast beef sandwich, and a mushroom on a roasted baguette.
The scones were good, but would have been better warm in my opinion. They gave us cream cheese, orange jam, and a berry jam. I mixed the berry jam with the cream cheese and it was so delicious on the scones.
We rode around Atlanta and learned about some of the historical buildings and Atlanta’s history. We sung happy birthday to everyone celebrating birthdays, including my sister’s.
And I even made some new friends on the bus. Would I do it again? Maybe when my daughter gets older and we can have a mommy-daughter tea party date.
